At the moment, Scandinavia is producing and cultivating a whole range of exciting artist taking the world by storm. Denmark’s Boho Dancer are on UK shores this weekend playing at the Cambridge Folk Festival. If you fancy something a little mystical, fairy tale-like with enchanting vocals, then check out for their album Gemini which will be released on September 2nd.

Relaxing and dreamy, this album really shows off the genre of Nordic inspired alternative indie folk. ‘Martin’ on Gemini is the sort of track that you keep going back to with its delicate and melancholic sound - definitely a track for a single release with its catchy lyrics. Lead vocalist Ida Wenøe has an Ellie Goulding quality to her voice until she starts wailing like The Yeah Yeah Yeah's Karen O on 'Waiting for a Summer (Never to Come)’. This is really unexpected after you have heard the previous songs and its sort of confusing but mesmerizing all at the same time.

The group met in Aarhus in 2009 while studying music and moved to Copenhagen in the summer of 2011. Formed of Ida Wenøe (lead vocal, guitar), Símun Mohr (bass, vocal, and guitar) and Asker Bjørk (drums, vocal, guitar). Struggling less these days September is looking like a good month for this band, full of festivals and a gig at Ronnie Scotts on 17th September.
