Last Friday saw people flock to Camden’s hotspot Proud, waiting in anticipation for R&B prodigy Miguel take to the stage. The show was opened by some talented females from all corners of the earth, including Yasmeen, Hayley Cassidy and Lovelle.

'The Voice' star Lovelle, treated us to some gorgeous offerings including her winning audition; a tweaked version of Rihanna's 'Diamonds'. She performed this track acoustic, showing off her ferocious yet soulful vocals over a reggae backdrop which was uniquely wonderful. She also performed her own song ‘Not For Girls’ and ‘Last Step’ with British rapper Lioness. This was really a night to prove why she deserved a coveted place on Jessie J’s squad.

After some hot dance, old-school and hip hop tunes a swarm of Miguel fans filled the room - there was very little space to breathe let alone shuffle! The 27-year-old Cali singer gave us hot rendition of his much-loved tunes, including 'Sure Thing', 'Lotus Flower Bomb', 'Adorn' and new release, 'Power Trip' which he features on with J.Cole. Miguel’s soothing R&B vocals and affable character makes him one of the most charming men in the scene right now. His talent cannot be capped and his performance at Proud is a true testimony to this.

It is safe to say that there were no risky surf jumps that nights as there were at the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas , just a lot of waving of beer bottles in the air and good vibes and people attempting to hit the high notes as they sang along to Miguel's sweet song lyrics in unison.

A tad gutted that he didn't perform ‘How Many Drinks’ but other than that (and the fact that there
was barely any room to manoeuvre)… his performance was spectacular!
