Tegan and Sara are a Canadian indie / rock / pop duo consisting of identical twins Tegan Rain Quin and Sara Keirsten Quin (born September 19, 1980).

Both twins are similarly involved in vocals, guitars and keyboards. The singing of the lead melody usually goes to whichever twin wrote the particular song.

About to release their seventh album Tegan and Sara offer us ‘Heartthrob’ - February 11th UK release on Warner Bros. Records.

The album was recently preceded by the EP ‘In Your Head: An Introduction to Tegan and Sara’ which highlighted some of the finest moments from their back catalogue.

‘Heartthrob’ sees Tegan and Sara edge away from their more indie past to embrace a newer pop direction as seen in the first single release from the album ‘Closer’ also set for release on February 11th.

The dynamic duo last performed in the UK in the summer of 2010 headlining London’s Roundhouse and performing at Glastonbury’s John Peel Stage. Tegan and Sara also recently completed an arena tour as guests to The Killers punctuated with select headline shows.

Tegan and Sara first caught the attention of Neil Young’s manager Elliot Roberts after independently releasing their debut album ‘Under Feet Like Ours’ in 1999. They subsequently signed to Roberts’ Vapor Records label but their major breakthrough came with the 2004 album ‘So Jealous’. Subsequent releases have seen the pair backed by members of Death Cab For Cutie, Weezer, AFI, while they have toured with the likes of Neil Young, Paramore, The Black Keys and The Shins. They have also collaborated with superstar DJs including David Guetta and Tiesto.

Music-News.com took some time out with the twins in Camden to find out more. Check out the full uncut interview above.
