Bona fide producer, singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Chris Corney has recently released his new single ‘These Bones’, taken from his damn fine fourth studio album ‘Airways Mansions’.

‘These Bones’ is an exquisitely crafted slice of harmonious and mellow pop rock. With its understated use of instruments (Corney on rhythm guitars, bass and keys, Tom Welham on lead guitar, and Tasha Baylis on drums) the song is a perfect example of Corney’s skill not only as a musical craftsman but also as a skilled lyricist!

The former Ravines frontman has created a love song with a twist – it is a witty statement of someone taking his time to commit, and thus prefers to carry his bones into new frontiers to get him ‘out of here’.
Corney’s voice strikes the right balance of passion and indifference when he sings “This time of night I will be anything you like… saint or worse… I’ll bring you flowers or I’ll bring you a curse… the night is long… You stole my heart when I stole a kiss… but I’ll take my time, I won’t get left behind… Carry these bones… “

Incidentally, Bedford-based artist has just signed a publishing deal with London/Nashville label ‘Southern Crossroads Music’ – sounds like exciting times are ahead for Chris Corney and his fans, so watch this space!
