London indie group the XX in the most part, have kept a very similar style and sound in which produced them success from their first album. However, they have offered a delicacy in sound on a couple of songs which includes their first single and track 1 ‘Angels’.

Angels, probably the softest song from Coexist, is filled with personal intimacy or heartbreak which is emphasised in Romy Madley Croft’s voice.

One of the highlights of the album is the crossover in vocals between (Oliver) Sim and Madley Croft. They almost take turns to share their past experience on a tragic moment that has overcome them. The 2 different voices work in tandem to great effect which is complimented so fruitfully by the soft tone entering your mind.
