At Ville Des Arts in the centre of Rabat during the 10th instalment of the magnificent Mawazine Festival, Music-news.com has the pleasure of an exclusive interview with Achraf, Khalifa and Mouhssine who combine to form the Moroccan rap group Fnaire.

Formed in 2001 they are at the forefront of the Arabic rap/hip hop scene. They blend a form of Chaabi with the urban scene of their home of Marrakech. Internationally respected they have recorded successful duets with Arab music stars such as Samira Said and Cheb Bilal.

Their latest album ‘Al Basam’ [Smile] was recorded in the UAE studio ‘Founoun Al Imarate’ owned by the famous Gulf star Hussein Al Jassmi. The album was mixed and mastered in the US and Paris and is released this week.

Music-News.com sat down with the Africa Music Award winners after their press conference to find out what made Fnaire tick.
