I’ve been listening to the music of the 60’s and 70’s since the very early days of Prog, with a particular love for bands could carry a song instrumentally – actually create images with their music and stir the emotions.

The Pipe Brothers are a key part of The Mentulls who have been delivering Blues/Prog music for a few years but this single really knocked me back even so.

Andrew & Jamie Pipe (guitar & keyboards) wrote this, produced it and pulled in the talents of ex-10CC drummer Paul Burgess and bassist Steve Amadeo.

The song is driven by the guitar riffs of Andrew Pipe and the song transitions through stages to tug at the emotions and lift the spirits on the instrumental journey. It hearkens back to bands such as Focus and Camel but it really stands out in todays world of ‘me-too’ bland copyists.

The Prog scene is alive and well at the moment but these guys are adding a certain something to the mix – cannot wait to hear the album!
