Nearly a decade has passed since Jenn Bostic debuted with Keep Lookin' For Love, an album which immediately secured her a firm and loyal following in the UK. Since then she has re-shaped her sound without losing her core audience and built an even bigger fanbase. With her Christian pop sound appealing to a mainstream audience, she hopes 2018 will see her grow even further in the hearts of the UK audiences as she releases new studio album, Revival.
2017 - what will you look back on most fondly from the year?
I was honored to win the award for “International Touring Artist of the Year” at the British Country Music Association Awards. I was also invited to perform at the event and there was magic in the air. One of my favorite musical moments of all time performing “Love You” from the new album Revival, as well as “Jealous of the Angels.”
Did you make any New Year's resolutions at the outset of 2017?
So many! I believe there is so much power in setting goals and writing them down. Here are just a few of my goals for 2018:
1. Perform 25 full band shows.
2. Perform in at least one new country.
3. Open for Bonnie Raitt, Tedeschi Trucks or Marc Broussard.
What was the biggest lesson you learned in 2017?
“No one else is you and that is your power.” Dave Grohl
What was the musical highlight of 2017?
Performing at the BCMA Awards and receiving the award for “International Touring Artist of the Year.”
Who are you excited to hear from in 2018?
My great friends and “Night in Nashville” tour mates Sarah Darling and Michael Logen will both be releasing new music this year, so I’m excited for that! I’m also always excited to hear new music from Marc Broussard, Sara Bareilles and Tedeschi Trucks.
Tell us about the record you'll be releasing?
My new album “Revival” is a fusion of blues, gospel, soul and pop. Recorded at the House of Blues Studios in Nashville, Tennessee, with six-time Grammy award winner Paul Salveson, some of my favorite musicians and people in the world played on this album, including my big brother Jeff Bostic, on bass guitar. For the first time, I boldly stepped into the studio and knew exactly what I wanted to record. The songwriting is
honest and the band is amazing. We had so much fun capturing the moment and I believe you can hear that in the music.
If you had to pick three artists to be filed next to, who would they be and why?
Bonnie Raitt, Susan Tedeschi (Tedeschi Trucks Band), and Marc Broussard. They all sing with such passion and soul that I believe every word. They also surround themselves with incredible musicians and perform unforgettable live shows. I strive to do this as an artist, and I’ve been incredibly inspired by their music over the years.
What inspired the record?
Life. Ten years of chasing the dream in my heart. There have been so many highs and lows along this journey, and through those experiences I have grown as an artist and person. I believe the music on this album to be the best I’ve created, because it’s taken ten years to get here.
If the record were an animal, what animal would it be?
A Lion. Bold, strong and fierce.

If you could jam with one artist alive or dead, who would it be?
My Dad. He was the first person to encourage me to play music, and he unfortunately passed away in a car accident when I was 10. I would love to opportunity to sit down with him as an adult and write music together.
If you could have written one song by another artist, what would it be?
Can’t Make You Love Me. That song is perfect.

Lastly, tell us one thing you have never revealed in an interview...
In middle school, the first instrument I started on for band was the trombone. The instrument was way too big for me and it lasted about 9 months before I switched to percussion.
