Alt-country duo Two Ways Home have announced the release of their new single, ‘Best Part of Me,’ from their powerful and heartfelt four-track EP, ‘Closest Stranger’. They will be launching the single with a lyric video which will go live online today.
Two Ways Home are made up of Isabella Mariee (originally from Vienna) and Lewis Fowler (who grew up in Gloucestershire). For the ‘Best Part of Me’ lyric video, Two Ways Home wanted to experiment with ideas of incorporating the lyrics in a creative way. Isabella thought of the concept of the lyrics “magically” appearing on pieces of paper with beautiful drawings surrounding the words held up by the duo, using stock motion. The director of the video, Dave Proud, chose Rochester, England, as a location for its gorgeous surroundings, glorious sunny weather and summery landscape which compliments the positive vibe of the song and video.
Lewis Fowler from Two Ways Home spoke of the lyric video as, ‘by no means a big budget production but we think it’s fun, suits the song and we hope people will enjoy watching and hopefully singing along!’
Two Ways Home recently returned to Nashville to continue developing their songwriting, along with mixing and mastering their ‘Closest Stranger’ EP. Bringing a little Nashville style to the UK, Two Ways Home will be hosting a ‘Round Up’ songwriters night in Soho at the CountryLine Café at Gail’s Kitchen on 3 August, showcasing the best of the UK’s thriving country scene.
In addition, Two Ways Home will also be performing their own headline gig at the Green Note, Camden on 18 August. They will be performing at numerous festivals as well this summer, including Bristol’s River Town Festival with the likes of The Shires and Ward Thomas on the bill.
Since their first release, the pair have enjoyed extensive radio play across the UK and Europe, including Chris Country, BBC Regional Radio and Amazing Radio among others. They have also performed with some of country music’s most influential musicians from Phil Vassar to Red Sky July, along with featuring in major print publications including The Sun, Sunday Mirror, Record Collector and Maverick Magazine.
