King King have an instantly recognizable sound; the bellow and screaming guitar of frontman Alan Nimmo, Wayne Proctor’s powerful but subtle drums, Bob Fridzema’s Hammond and keys bringing out the depth of the sound and Lindsay Coulson’s fluid basslines – always on the edge of tearing an outright funk line.

After Alan Nimmo’s vocal traumas this year it isn’t surprising that he has toned the ballsout assault down a little but this is probably one of the most powerful and rocking Soul/Blues for many a year – shades of Free at their finest - and the whole band are kicking it out of the park.

It is a little special when a track finishes and leaves a hole in the air that needs to be filled by pressing the ‘repeat’ and this had me reaching for the treatment time and again. – King King are back and really hitting the heights with this single. I can’t wait for the album.
