Monday evening, One Embankment was the place to be. Just two days ahead of the Brits, Universal Music and American Airlines held their fantastic party, gathering a small crowd to assist to the concert of the Brit Awards nominee Jonas Blue.
It was shortly before the concert that we managed to get into the beautiful and cosy venue at One Embankment. Just like all big events, we had to queue for some time, getting more and more excited as we waited.
Once inside, we felt the heat and anticipation amongst the audience. The venue was packed with competition winners, journalists and VIPs, all waiting to see Jonas Blue and his special guest Raye.
It is around 9:30pm that Jonas Blue and his band arrived on stage. He introduced Raye and performed By Your Side, which sent the audience into frenzy. Raye was unbelievable: her voice is incredibly powerful and she engaged with the crowd effortlessly.
After a fantastic start, Jonas blue was joined by Dakota to sing the summer hit Fast Cars. Finally, JP Cooper took the stage to interpret Perfect Strangers. The whole venue sang along and danced their hearts out.
We briefly met with JP Cooper on our way out: he said he was proud that Jonas Blue had two nominations at the Brits (British Single, British Artist Video of the Year) and felt very chuffed by his performance. JP Cooper was super friendly and hugged us when we said our goodbyes.
Overall, we experienced a great night, filled with glamour, music, cocktails, canapés and surprising encounters. Thank you again to Universal Music and American Airlines for hosting such a fun night. Now, it’s time to look forward to tonight and the Brits!
