An unusual blend of TED-style lecture and folk song concert, Matthew Crampton & London Lubbers wows music, literary and general audiences alike. Matthew Crampton’s stories take us right onto the emigration boats, slave ships and transportation vessels, all published in Human Cargo.
London’s most innovative folk club started a new season of Shanty Sessions, exploring our rich maritime history through music, song and dance on the decks of Cutty Sark.
The evening featured some of the most exciting nautically minded folk bands in the UK inc Lisa Knapp, Norfolk Broads, Matthew Crampton & The London Lubbers, City Shanty Band, Emily Mae Winters and culminated in a ceilidh with the Ceilidh Liberation Front!
This event programme was part of a wider series of events & festivals at Royal Museums Greenwich, celebrating the folklore and traditions of our maritime heritage.
