Genre-bending musical collaborations have always been somewhat at the forefront of the music industry for the last few years. Having been celebrated in the progressive house movement over the last few years, Texan duo Tritonal are ready to break into the mainstream music scene with their latest album Painting With Dreams. Having teamed up with breaking name Jenaux and the distinctively vocalled Adam Lambert, they aim for international superstardom with the electronic hypnotism of Broken, a track which more than demonstrates their pedigree.

Broken is best defined as trap house, boasting a tropical flavour and an addictive rhythm that will have your body moving unwittingly before you are even aware of the shapes you are throwing. While the subject may be heartbreaking, the song itself has a euphoric release feel to it. While Lambert laments, the beat helps him release the pain. The art of contrast strengthens the depth and meaning of the lyrical content, with the collaborative team showing that they can apply pop hook sensibilities to a sound that is destined for the dancefloor.

With Tritonal at the helm, Lambert continues to build on his strong footing following the release of The Original High. Having removed the plastic exterior to his showmanship, he is able to be an entertainer who really hits for the core of his listener. Broken is a flawless move on his behalf as it showcases the real strength to his charm - his innate honesty and to die for voice.

Broken deserves to be a massive break out hit. It is without doubt one of the strongest single releases of 2016 so far.
