Gogol Bordello brought their gypsy punk roadshow into London's KOKO this week for two nights of mayhem.

Celebrating 10 years since the release of Gypsy Punks: Underdog World Strike, Eugene and his crazy cohort took to the stage in typically anarchic fashion.

The Nine-strong band are led by their ringmaster who is a tightly wound coil, prancing and stomping across the stage always in motion, stripped to the waste, strumming his acoustic, screeching vocals, and clutching his bottle of red wine as if life-sustainig. Its hard to take your eyes of him. The band members each take their moment in the spotlight at the lip of the stage watching the sea of bodies as ripples turn to waves. In unison the audience sing back every lyric as fans body surf towards the him; KOKO is heaving and hot tonight.

With band members hailing for as far afield as Ukraine, Russia, Ethiopia, Ecuador, the U.S.A. and Belarus this is a truly global spectacle. As Eugene said in our pre-gig interview 'I want to make music that is borderless'.
A commendable ambition and one that he has whole-heartedly suceeded in doing.

A global ambassador for extrovert humanity Eugene still looks fresh after masterminding another storming performance. Gogol Bordello are unable to give anything less than 100%, every performance seems to rival the last and long may it continue.
