Rob Beckett has made his way into our living rooms on a regular basis over the last couple of years thanks to his appearances on several panel shows and inparticular his regular slot on the I'm a Celebrity spin off show, his presence very often making it far more entertaining than the main show!

The big teethed cheeky chappie from South East London has sold out Falmouth Pavilions tonight. There's no support act today but we are about to get our money's worth with a full couple of hours from Rob.

He introduces himself from the side of the stage and walks on bearing those famous teeth in a wide grin that doesn't leave his face all night. He proves he's done a little bit of homework on local knowledge by kicking off with a bit of banter about the roadworks at Asda roundabout instantly getting the crowd on his side.

One of the most interesting things in going to see a comic live is finding out whether he's the scripted performance type, or the pick on the audience type, and just a few minutes in to the show we're glad we are sitting a few rows back!

Rob picks on a few members of the front row, asking for advice anyone can give him on keeping his recent marriage a happy one. He also makes another front row dweller truly regret rustling his bag of sweets!

Rob bounces off various members of the audience throughout the evening and in doing so demonstrates his effortless ability to improvise and create a laugh from any comment or situation. He uses just the right amount of audience participation to bring as all together in the shared experience of forgetting all our worries for a couple of hours and laughing about his instead!

Rob really is a natural at this, and you can see his eyes light up as he picks put downs out of the air to sort out a couple of hecklers.

Subjects covered are all pretty close to home, marriage, holidays, jobs, DIY, posh people, shitting yourself in public, you know, the usual stuff ;-) .

Subject matter is largely irrelevant though, Rob is just a naturally very funny guy, evidently with a love for life and making others laugh. We cry with laughter for much of the set and 2 hours just fly by.

Rob extends his man of the people persona right to the end, he stands in the foyer as we leave, shaking hands, thanking us for coming and posing for photos with everybody. A very nice touch.

This guy really is worth checking out live, Rob's Mouth Of The South tour is stretching on until June so he's bound to be playing near you at some point. Click here for tour dates -www.robbeckettcomedy.com

Oh, and just a little tip, if you do go and see him, make sure you're not late....... Rob WILL notice !
