Inspired by Frank Sinatra’s 100th anniversary, ‘Come Fly With Me’ is Peter Andre’s first release under a new record deal with East West Records/Warner Music. Rich in swing and brass instrumentals, the album is jam packed with classic covers such as ‘Fly Me To The Moon’ and ‘Mack The Knife’. It is clearly a mum loving album that has that christmassy warm sound.

Aussie reality star has attempted to put his own take on the singalong classics starting with ‘Fly Me To The Moon’. Andre sings along as if at a karaoke night, not changing or adapting it to his own style. I wouldn't say this is a negative as covering such a well known song is risky but Andre’s smooth comforting vocals work well with the track.

‘Ain’t That A Kick In The Head’ stands out on the album the most as it fits ‘Mysterious Girl’ singers vocals so perfectly. Closely following is ‘Mack The Knife’ with the swing sound fully shown off especially within the drums performed by Robbie William’s drummer Adrian Meehan. A few of the songs lack that oomph that made them into the classics they are. Half way through many of the tracks I was expecting a key change or some other cheesy Peter Andre method of creating his singalong hits but I was just left waiting.

The jazzy swing vibes are left behind for ‘Ain’t It Strange (Falling In Love)’, which sounds like it has just been plucked out of a West End musical but the track immediately makes you smile and feel all cosy inside so what more can you ask for?

The pace picks up for ‘Little Miss Notting Hill’ so that you're forced to dance along. It’s the sort of song that’s on your guilty pleasures list, full with cringe worthy lyrics about girls stealing your heart but you can’t help but sing along.

Andre completely out did himself by creating a swing Michael Bublé-esque ‘Mysterious Girl’ remake. I was completely caught off guard but well played to you Mr Andre you transformed your song into a whole new song in a whole new genre of music.

Final track ‘Turn It Up’ returns to Andre’s old style with catchy choruses and those 90s pop song vibes. I wouldn’t say it’s a well written song at all but his fans won’t be disappointed as he returns to his own genre.

I can tell you now this album will reach the charts by Christmas, full with its classics that will be played in the background whilst you open your presents. I’m shocked by how talented Andre actually is, showing off his charming vocals. The album just makes me smile and if that isn’t what music is all about, then I don’t know what is.
