With his unique fusion of alternative R&B, soulful vocalist Raheem Bakaré is about to take us all by storm. ‘Portrait of Love’, the lead track taken from his forthcoming EP ‘AWOL’, is a hefty dose of romance and flirtatious lyricism.

The young lothario speaks of love and smiles in a track that is sure to have infinite success in the world of R&B music, and received an exclusive play from CJ Beatz on Radio 1XTRA on Monday evening.

Raheem has developed an exciting fusion sound after hours spent recording at home, honing his sound and listening to the work of Musiq Soulchild and Ryan Leslie: “It stems from R&B and neo-soul, but goes off into influences from electronic music, indie and, even, hip-hop through Kanye West’s ‘808s & Heartbreak’ vibe.”

Born in East, raised in South London, Raheem is a Londoner through and through. Mixing with the likes of Bluey Robinson at school, music has been a part of his life since an early age; allowing his confidence to grow and grow. With a new found belief in himself and his abilities, Raheem’s current sound was born, and ‘Portrait of Love’ became a reality.

Keen to establish himself as an artist and to let people know that he has truly arrived on the music scene, Bakaré is now preparing to release his brand new EP, ‘AWOL’ on 11th May 2014. The project has been two years in the making and Bakaré sees this dark R&B-influenced debut as a taster of what is to come.

‘Portrait of Love’ serves as the perfect lead track from EP, showcasing Raheem’s versatility and experimental nature, as he sets to adorn the music skyline.
