Every week, Music News and Liberty Music look at the best new releases from emerging and self-releasing artists.

Gaia Cauchi – ‘Why Should I’

With a background that already includes representing Malta in the 2013 Junior Eurovision Song Contest and a stint on 2018’s UK X Factor, 16-year-old Gaia Cauchi is now ready to reintroduce herself with her glittering debut single ‘Why Should I’. With notable influences from the likes of Jess Glynne and Bebe Rexha, this bold and vibrant slice of pop sees her deliver an initial single with all the poise and charisma of a far more established artist.

Aaricia – ‘For Two’

Following on from the stellar success of her 2017 debut album ‘Figures’, which charted across several European countries, Montreal-based singer and songwriter Aaricia now returns to continue the hype for her next LP with the playfully enigmatic ‘For Two’. Taking influence from the 90s RnB and pop sound, this new cut couples her smooth and seductive vocals with a bed of dark yet glossy pop production.

Somebody’s Child – ‘Jungle’

After an incredible summer that saw him perform at the Radio X Summer Party, Reading & Leeds Festivals and Electric Picnic, Irish-born artist Somebody’s Child now returns with his latest slice of indie-rock euphoric ‘Jungle’. With influences that range from U2 to The War On Drugs, ‘Jungle’ is being heralded as the frontman’s best song to date, with its impassioned vocals and catchy hooks that will be replying in your head for days to come.

Royal Cinema – ‘Cha-Ching’

Having spent the last few years as members of touring bands for The Cranberries, Lorde and Awolnation, electro-indie outfit Royal Cinema have spent the last few years focused solely on their own project, and now look to get our hips shaking with their latest release ‘Cha-Ching’. With their Goldfrapp-esque sound, this new offering sees the group add a flair for the fun on their latest cut, filling it with pulsing basslines and a toe-tapping hook.

Teenear – ‘I Like It’ ft. Lil Baby

Having spent the last few years building up her reputation as a bold and vibrant RnB artist, Miami-based singer Teenear now returns with her latest club anthem ‘I Like It’. Collaborating alongside Lil Baby, the pair look to take cues from the 90s RnB aesthetic of Janet Jackson and Aaliyah for this pumping and energetic new jam that oozes sultry and seductive vibes.
