2018 MTV Video Vanguard recipient Jennifer Lopez has shattered records and ceilings, and has always lived her life with the mentality of being limitless. Rolling out on MTV’s global channels in nearly 180 countries starting December 21st, MTV presents Jennifer Lopez: The Ride, which will focus on Lopez’s journey building a career—and a brand—as a woman. Learn how a girl from the Bronx became one of the highest grossing female artists of all time.
Jennifer Lopez: The Ride premieres on MTV UK on December 21st at 9:00 p.m.
Some things you didn’t know about Jennifer Lopez:
· Lopez’s upcoming romantic comedy, Second Act, will be her 34th film.
· After two years as a Fly Girl on hit ‘90s show In Living Color, Lopez was hired as atour dancer for Janet Jackson, but decided to shift gears and focus on acting.
· To break into music, Lopez financed her own demo, which landed on the desk of Sony Music’s head at the time (Tommy Mottola) and led to her debut album On The 6.
MTV’s The Ride is a dynamic, snappy and catchy docu-series that shows the journey to stardom of music artists. With childhood stories, exclusive personal interviews and behind-the-scenes footage, the show gives fans direct and intimate access to some of the world’s top artists. Past episodes have centered on Rita Ora, Fifth Harmony, Green Day and Martin Garrix, among others.
