CinemaLive and Sassy Films are proud to announce that Cliff Richard Live: 60th Anniversary Tour, broadcast live to cinemas from Manchester Bridgewater Hall on Friday 12th October with encore screenings on Sunday 14thOctober, achieved more than £1.1 million (£1,115,797 as verified by comScore) at the UK and Irish box office, with further cinemas to report.
Over the two dates, the event was shown in 517 cinemas on almost 1000 screens across the UK and Ireland. The live broadcast was directed by Brian Klein and produced by the UK’s leading live content agency Sassy Films and event cinema specialists CinemaLive.
Cliff Richard’s Manager Malcolm Smith said: "Cliff was keen to try something new for his 60th Anniversary year to make sure as many of his fans as possible could be a part of his celebration tour. We are delighted with the success of the live cinema broadcast and the response from his fans around the world has been extremely positive. Over 80,000 cinema tickets were sold in UK and Ireland. There will be cinema screenings in other territories around the world in the coming weeks.”
