Matt Everitt is no stranger to the music business, signing a record deal in the 90s during the heady days of Britpop as the drummer in Britpop band Menswe@r and then going on to appear on XFM and then reporting the Music News on the 6 Music Breakfast Show and for BBC Radio 2’s Ken Bruce show as well as being a familiar face on TV. 6 Music series The First Time has led him to interview the biggest music stars on the planet and now the time is right to publish these incredible stories.

Taking the lead from his original interviews, Matt has collected 40 subjects, talking in depth about their first experiences including first gigs, first musical memories etc. A real Desert Island Discs of musical firsts!
