For the first time since his 2012 sell-out performance, the world’s biggest selling violinist of all time, maestro and maverick Nigel Kennedy returns to the Cheltenham Jazz Festival.

Joining an exciting line-up which already features the likes of jazz torchbearer Kamasi Washington, David Bowie collaborator Donny McCaslin, soul legend Randy Crawford, and multi-Grammy-award-nominated singer songwriter Beth Hart, Kennedy will perform the music of Jimi Hendrix accompanied by his esteemed Polish jazz band at the Cheltenham Town Hall on Thursday 3rd May.

Kennedy remains the best-selling violinist of all time after a lucrative three-decade career. Pushing at the boundaries that might constrain others, he has continued to pioneer new sounds and new methods of performance, exploring repertoire which spans classical, jazz, klezmer, and rock, and is an adventurous addition to the Festival’s programme.

The 2018 Cheltenham Jazz Festival takes place from May 2nd to 7th is hosted in a tented festival village in Cheltenham’s Montpellier Gardens. The full line-up will be announced in February.

Tickets for Randy Crawford, Beth Hart, Kamasi Washington and Christian McBride are on sale now, and available from www.cheltenhamfestivals.com/jazz.
