The Script partner with charity on new Arms Open video

“For us, this is more than just a music video. Like the song itself, we wanted to reach out to as many people as possible, people who have been less fortunate in life, giving them a platform to tell their stories. On researching the ideas for the video, we came across so many charities, and while they are all doing such great work, we were immediately inspired by A Sense Of Home and wanted to show support and build awareness. This organisation offered a real solution that could be rolled out across the world, particularly in Ireland where this problem is so prevalent. Share it wide and share it proud with arms open. The Script have just revealed a very special video for their new single Arms Open. The emotional video, directed by Frank Borin, was made in partnership with the charity A Sense Of Home and features real-life stories and footage of people helped by the non-profit organisation. A simple, strong message that highlights love, empathy and care, Arms Open is the band’s second single to be taken from their album Freedom Child. The Script, whilst researching ideas for their new video, stumbled across the charity and were blown away by the work that A Sense Of Home do for youths in the foster care system. The band knew immediately they wanted to help spread the word and chose to team up with them for the powerful and heart-wrenching new video.

A Sense Of Home is a community based solution for creating homes for aged-out foster youth. The charity brings together volunteers to serve as a family would - utilising donated furniture to make the youth’s first permanent living space beautiful - giving them dignity, self-worth and pride. In the process, the organisation acts as extended family to the transitioning youth, providing practical and emotional support as well as professional connections they might not already have.
