English Heritage and Giles Cooper Entertainment (GCE Live) have announced today (Thursday 30th November) that live music will be returning to the stunning grounds of Audley End House & Gardens near Saffron Walden, Essex in July 2018.

The Heritage Live Concert Series will take place over one weekend in July bringing together the best in live music in the most unique of outdoor settings.

The first show of the series has also been announced today. 2CELLOS are Croatian cellists Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser, who for over five years have toured the world, selling out arenas and working with the most illustrious artists including Sir Elton John, Zucchero and Lang Lang. Their dynamic live show led to them being invited to perform as part of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Celebrations in 2012, and their 2017 world tour culminated in a sold out performance at the Royal Albert Hall.

Earlier this year, 2CELLOS released their latest album, Score, which saw the duo accompanied by the London Symphony Orchestra, performing some of the most popular melodies ever written for classic and contemporary movies and television.

The duo will deliver a very special and exclusive performance at Audley End on Sunday 15th July 2018, which will see them perform music from Score, as they’re joined by world class musicians. The event will culminate in a spectacular fireworks finale – a great tradition of Audley End House & Gardens concerts over the years.

Very special guest for the show will be winner of Britain’s Got Talent 2017, Tokio Myers, who last week performed a show-stopping set at the illustrious annual Royal Variety Performance.

With his incredible fusion of classical piano with cinematic, electronic sounds and beats, he creates an original and immersive live experience, drawing inspiration from his musically diverse influences. Tokio has previously supported Lianne La Havas on her 2016 European Tour and has performed with artists including Kanye West, Mr Hudson, the late Amy Winehouse and The Police.

Jamie Osborne, English Heritage’s General Manager at Audley End House & Gardens, said: “We are thrilled to be bringing back the summer concerts to Audley End. While at this stage it’s for one year only, we’re hopeful that this will become an annual event. I can think of no better way to spend a summer’s evening than listening to wonderful music against the spectacular backdrop of Audley End House.”

Giles Cooper, the Managing Director of GCE, has been involved in some of the most memorable live experiences in the UK for almost three decades, including variety shows such as Sunday Night At The Palladium, and is the Chairman and Executive Producer of the annual Royal Variety Performance. He said: “We are delighted to be working with English Heritage in resurrecting the summer concerts at Audley End this coming July and the entire GCE LIVE team is looking forward to bringing a mix of classical music with mainstream pop to the property. 2CELLOS are undoubtedly amongst the most talented musicians in the world today and in addition we’re so fortunate to have also secured the extra-ordinary talents of Tokio Myers (winner of Britain’s Got Talent 2017) to open the evening for us. The night will culminate with a spectacular fireworks finale making this a very rare and special concert for Audley End!”

2CELLOS commented: “We have played at some of the world’s most beautiful and iconic venues around the world during our Score tour so we are thrilled to play Audley End House next summer.”
