The Eden Project today (Thursday November 23) announced that highly-acclaimed singer-songwriter Björk will play an Eden Session next summer.

In what is a massive coup for the Cornwall-based project, Björk will perform in front of the world-famous Biomes on Wednesday June 20.

The Eden concert is set to be one of only two the Icelandic superstar is due to play in the UK next summer. Her other appearance will be at the new All Points East festival in London's Victoria Park over the May bank holiday weekend.

Over a career spanning four decades, Björk has developed a unique style which takes in pop, electronic, classical, trip hop and avant-garde styles.

Björk came to fame as the lead singer of the alt-rock group The Sugarcubes before going solo in 1993 and winning massive acclaim with albums such as Debut (1993), Post (1995) and Homogenic (1997).

She has had 30 singles reach the top 40 on pop charts around the world, with 22 top 40 hits in the UK. These include the top 10 hits It’s Oh So Quiet, Army of Me and Hyperballad.

Among many accolades, Björk has won five BRIT Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, one MOJO Award, three UK Music Video Awards and 21 Icelandic Music Awards.

Her latest release Blissing Me is the second single to come from her forthcoming ninth studio album Utopia. The album is due out tomorrow, November 24.

Tickets to the Björk Eden Session cost £50 plus £5 booking fee and are on sale to members of the Inside Track club now. Tickets go on general sale at 4.30pm on November 30 through www.edensessions.com.
