The curtain fell on the 10th anniversary of Clockenflap, Hong Kong’s biggest music and arts festival, with an unforgettable day of music and entertainment at Central Harbourfront on Sunday. A stellar lineup, which included Portland indie survivors THE DANDY WARHOLS, Danish electropop star MØ, psychedelic rock masters POND and TEMPLES, dubstep pioneer SKREAM, Cantopop mavericks SUPPER MOMENT and neo-soul heroes JUNGLE, was topped by UK electronic legends MASSIVE ATTACK, who brought the festival to a spellbinding close with a spectacular live show that also featured Mercury Prize-winning hip-hop act YOUNG FATHERS.
The festival also revealed its dates for next year, announcing that Clockenflap will return to Central Harbourfront on November 9, 10 & 11, 2018. “Thanks to the incredible support we receive from everyone who attends Clockenflap, we’re thrilled to be able to confirm the dates for our 2018 festival a year in advance for the first time ever,” said Mike Hill, co-founder and managing director of Magnetic Asia, the company behind Clockenflap. “To repay that support, we’re giving our most dedicated fans the opportunity to buy tickets for Clockenflap 2018 at very special Fan Fare prices for the next two weeks. We’re already looking forward to seeing you all back at Central Harbourfront next November for another wonderful weekend of music, art and people.”
In addition to the music, fans at this year’s festival also took advantage of the incredible attractions spread throughout the festival site, such as Shigeki Matsuyama’s NARCISSISM: DAZZLEROOM, a mesmerising mobile optical illusion, and Spanish body artist ellebannA’s QUANTUM, a continually morphing performance piece. The family area, meanwhile, saw British children’s music star NICK COPE and much-loved Hong Kong kids’ entertainers RUMPLE & FRIENDS delighting young Clockenflappers all afternoon long. And, as ever, Silent Disco powered by FWD MAX proved a firm fan favourite as Clockenflappers queued up to dance to the beat of their chosen DJ.
Specially priced Fan Fare tickets for Clockenflap 2018 go on sale at midnight on Monday November 20, 2017 until 23:59 on Monday December 4, 2017 at clockenflap.com. During the Fan Fare period, four General Admission tickets will be available at the following prices:
Weekend: HKD1,280
Friday: HKD740
Saturday: HKD810
Sunday: HKD810
