Every week, Music News and Liberty Music look at the best new releases from emerging and self-releasing artists.

This week we have singles from some of the best upcoming artists in soul, folk and indie-pop.

Jamie Cruickshank – I Can See Totterdown

I Can See Totterdown, the debut single by folk singer-songwriter Jamie Cruickshank, is unlike any typical track you may hear on the radio today. The first of four singles to be released over the next two years, the poetic song sees Cruickshank depicting a possible future for his family within the natural landscape and beauty of Totterdown – an inner suburb located in the musician’s hometown of Bristol.

The Kondoors – Mr Rain

The Kondoors is comprised of the magnificent singer-songwriters Jessica Greenfield and Gavin Conder. Together they possess a revelatory musical chemistry and passionate vocalism; when their respective voices intertwine, the result is an almighty powerhouse of harmonies and glorious melodies. The duo’s new song Mr Rain is another stunning example of the couple’s incredible compositional flair.

Cameron Bloomfield – Get In Get Out

Cameron Bloomfields’ latest ‘Get In Get Out’ eases the listener in with its striking electric guitar riffs reminiscent of Prince and Curtis Mayfield, then bursts into an elated chorus with Bloomfield’s compelling vocal taking centre stage. A blend of funk, soul, pop and R&B

Fond Of Rudy – To Be Mine

Brighton and London based indie-pop quartet Fond of Rudy continue to work their craft and display a musical versatility with new single ‘To Be Mine’. In contrast to the group’s previous offering ‘L O V E’, a sweetened downtempo cut of reflection and vulnerability, the track is a shorter but still sweet pop package of driving rhythms and memorable hooks.

Georgia Meek – Black Dog

Georgia Meek’s latest 'Black Dog' (produced by Jose Cubidos) carries on her winning streak and sees the singer continue to express personal experiences in her music. Led by an ascending ominous riff, the song has a dark tone reinforced by its sparse percussion and Meek’s smooth vocals, which are manipulated and layered to create a choir-like intensity.
