The last five shows of the Scorpions’ U.S. tour with Megadeth have been cancelled after doctors advised lead singer Klaus Meine to rest his voice.

A statement was issued by the band:

The Scorpions regret to announce that due to severe laryngitis, the remainder of the 2017 US tour will be cancelled.

Klaus Meine has been advised by a top throat specialist in Los Angeles to rest his voice. If he continues the tour, he could risk permanent damage.

The band stated, that they truly hate to disappoint our fans, but this time we have no choice but to cancel.

The cancellations included a special Los Angeles City Council presentation to the band for their part in building the musical landscape of the area.

The cancelled dates:

10/08 – Phoenix, AZ – Talking Stick Arena
10/11 – San Antonio, TX – Freeman Coliseum
10/12 – Dallas, TX – Pavilion At The Music Factory
10/14 – Fort Lauderdale, FL – BB&T Center
10/15 – Tampa, FL – Amalie Arena
