Music-News.com is proud to host the exclusive world premiere of JP's 'Good Friend' Vevo LIFT video.

Vevo has revealed soulful pop sensation JP Cooper as its penultimate LIFT act of 2017. The ‘September Song’ hitmaker will release a variety of exclusive live performances and behind-the-scenes videos filmed in his hometown of Manchester, debuting on 4 September on vevo.com and on the mobile app.

Self-taught musician JP, known for his distinctly smooth sound, follows in the footsteps of Rag ‘N’ Bone Man, Jonas Blue and Rat Boy who all released their own Vevo LIFT videos earlier in the year.

JP’s first video of the LIFT series is a moving interview entitled ‘Becoming’, a short film where JP explores his musical identity, opening up for the first time about his working-class upbringing in Manchester and how the passing of his mother at a young age shaped him in to the impassioned artist he is today. Over the following weeks, Vevo will continue to roll out videos including exclusive live performances of tracks from JP’s forthcoming debut album as well as behind-the-scenes footage, bringing fans closer than ever before to the rising star.

With two UK Top Ten singles to his name, including the Jonas Blue smash ‘Perfect Strangers’, which he co-wrote, and the inescapable radio hit ‘September Song’, JP has notched up 10 million single units worldwide, and an extraordinary 1 billion streams. JP will be performing a headline show at London’s prestigious Roundhouse on 19 October and his debut album ‘Raised Under Grey Skies’ is out 6 October. The album includes ‘Momma’s Prayers’, a collaboration with grime superstar Stormzy.

JP Cooper commented: “I'm absolutely buzzing to have been chosen to be a Vevo LIFT artist. I love the creativity of the videos I've seen and it's been amazing working with the team on the pieces we've put together. I'm excited to give a little more insight into my life before the music and the place where I grew up. I can't wait to share it!”

Launched back in 2012, Vevo’s artist development programme LIFT throws the spotlight on the freshest new talent in Britain. Vevo LIFT alumni include the likes of Sam Smith, James Bay and Years and Years who all gave their fans a sneak peek into their early careers via a series of Vevo videos.
