With just over two weeks to go and anticipation reaching fever pitch, Margate's By The Sea today reveals final additions and a day-by-day break down for the third edition.

Joining the likes of The Libertines, Metronomy and Everything Everything in Margate will be the man, the myth, the legend: snooker world champion turned nu-skool DJing titan Steve Davis, who will be DJing at the By The Sea after party.

Also announced today are: Blaenavon, who return to By The Sea following the release of their celebrated debut album; cult Manchester favourites Dutch Uncles; two of the most exciting new bands to emerge from the UK, Shame andAlaskaslaska; Tom Vek (DJ set), Snapped Ankles, Gang and Birthday Girl.

Taking place over Friday 29th September - Sunday 1st October, By the Sea is the only UK festival that combines big name artists and the hottest rising bands amidst the unique British coastal town setting of Margate.

With a fully expanded Fringe programme this year, there's now more to explore than ever before. Guests of this year's By The Sea can take in acoustic performances in the Museum in the middle of Old Town, discover new talent on the Draft House Stage in Olby's Cafe, have brunch at Cliff's on Northdown Road, or enjoyDreamland's many rides and attractions (ticket holders receive a discount). For the brave, there will be a morning dip in the famous Walpole Bay Sea Bathing Pool on Sunday.

This year’s event follows two sold out years which featured a brace of memorable performances from Foals, Hot Chip, Wolf Alice, Super Furry Animals, Bat For Lashes, Wild Beasts as well as newer stars Loyle Carner, The Big Moon, Jagwar Ma, Let’s Eat Grandma, Teleman, Sink The Pink, plus Jarvis Cocker in a rare DJ set on the dodgems by the sea.

Final weekend tickets are available now for £90.75. Once again day and weekend tickets include access to the restored, recreated and retro-fitted Dreamland amusement park, with new rides added all the time.

Dreamland was recently re-launched after a major investment, which saw the site revamped and expanded with a focus on authentic vintage rides including a speedway, Wedgwood Tea Cups and the Magic Mouse which reflect its uniquely British heritage.

Margate Winter Gardens first opened in August 1911 and the grand Victorian venue has stood proudly overlooking the sea from its stunning location of Fort Crescent, Margate ever since. In that time the famous white building has firmly cemented its place in music and comedy history, with bands such as The Beatles wowing local audiences and true legends of the entertainment world, from Norman Wisdom toFrankie Howerd, heading “down to Margate.”

There’s even an intersection between the rides and the music with the return of DJ sets by the dodgems. The concept has proved to be a particularly memorable highlight with previous guests including Jarvis Cocker and Hot Chip.

With an enviable range of talent performing at an iconic location in one of the nation’s hottest towns, By The Sea is quickly becoming a vital highlight of the festival calendar.
