This week we have singles from some of the best upcoming artists in both soul and electro-pop.

Tabi Gazele – Touch Somebody

Tabi Gazele represents a new strain of ‘Irresistible Afro Pop’, comprising of pumping synth-bass and compelling moments of silky, groovened electric guitar. Tabi’s slick cooperation with production partner Timomatic that triggered a timeless take on a well-recognised classic ‘Touch Somebody’ by Brenda Fassie. This spawned a rendition that made the song entirely revitalising.



Laura Lamn – Boyfriend

Musician and creative, Laura Lamn, has unveiled her brand new music video for the playful hip-house track, ‘Boyfriend’. Produced by long time collaborator, S2_COOL, the track sees the pair on top form as Laura delivers some clever wordplay and imagery, channelled through a loose and promiscuous flow over S2’s all-analogue synth and drum machine driven arrangement.



Boba K – What She’s Like

Approaching pop from left-of-centre, the Ukrainian native living in London, presents her debut release ‘What She’s Like’, which is a powerful, vivid, pop masterpiece, laced with electro undertones and an alluringly captivating sound that draws from her culture and heritage. Exploding with a mighty chorus, it’s an ambitious statement of intent that puts Boba K on a clear path to becoming pop’s next frontrunner.



Amelia Payne – The Battle

Following her impressive and ambitious debut single ‘Down’, pop’s new game changer Amelia Payne is back with her empowering new single ‘The Battle’.  Produced by Toby Scott (Little Mix, Gorgon City, Pet Shop Boys, Girls Aloud) who also co-wrote the track with Amelia, ‘The Battle’ delivers a compelling message of standing up for yourself in any given situation that may try to bring you down. The infectious track leads with Amelia’s resounding vocal, presiding over an uplifting chorus and a punchy bass-drop production.



The Magnettes – So Bad

Compact with both ethereal vocals and twinkling melodies, The Magnettes come forward with both raw and magical edge in ‘So Bad’. The track reflects on “people’s fucked-up double standards”.
