South by Southwest® (SXSW®) Conference and Festivals (March 10-19, 2017) will pilot SXSW Songs, an international song camp, SXSW Songs, curated by industry professionals, at Arlyn Studios, 200 Academy Drive, Austin, Texas from Sunday, March 12 through Tuesday, March 14, 2017. SXSW’s platform for convening a global community of artists, songwriters, producers, publishers, music supervisors, A&R, brands and corporations offers a unique backdrop for the song camp experience.

SXSW Songs’ participating songwriters, producers, topliners and performers from around the world have been selected by an advisory board that includes Charlie Arme (Tileyard Music, UK), Ben Malén (Stereoscope Music Scandinavia), Benjamin Budde (Budde Music, Germany), Eric Beall (Shapiro Bernstein, US), Katie Mitzell Fagan (Prescription Songs, US), Tim Maginnis (ASCAP, US), Phil Patterson (DIT, UK) and Milly Petriella (APRA, Australia). In addition, it is expected that some of SXSW Music Festival’s performing artists will drop by for sessions at the camp.

SXSW registrants can get a taste of the SXSW Songs experience and songwriting output at two events on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 as part of SXSW Music. There will be a panel discussion, —SXSW Songs: The Current State of Songwriting—, with camp participants and music publishers, followed by a listing party of the songs written during the program at the Victorian Room in the Driskill Hotel.
