Mariah Carey's representative is laughing off reports suggesting the diva once threw fiance James Packer's computer out of a window when a Beyonce song appeared on a playlist.

The sourced story began as an article on Australian website The Fix and it was picked up by blogs and news outlets across the world.

Insiders told The Fix Mariah flew into a rage when Packer turned on Beyonce's Crazy in Love, and she "threw the computer that was playing it via speakers out the window", and then "ran out of the room screaming".

A rep for Carey, who became engaged to the Australian billionaire earlier this year (16), tells GossipCop the allegations are "false".

The news emerges six months after Mariah declared she was eager to hit the studio or stage with Beyonce, because she has been a longtime fan.

"I would love to work with her anytime, she's amazing," Mariah told Access Hollywood in February (16). "We've known each other for a while... It'll happen, when and if it happens... And if not, I'll always admire her and look at her as a friend.

"We have a lot of fun, she's fun. She's a great girl. I love her so much, I really do."

Just a month later, the two superstars managed to catch up at the HeartView Global Foundation charity event in Los Angeles back in March (16), when the Hero singer shared a snap of the smiling icons on Instagram, and captioned it, "Two girls, one cause."
