Barry Gibb will release his first solo album since 1984’s ‘Now Voyager’ ‘In The Now’ in October.
Barry Gibb has recorded this solo album the same way he made all those Bee Gees records. “Instead of it being with my three brothers it is with my two sons Stephen and Ashley,” Gibb said.”I’m a better writer if I’m writing with somebody”.
“It took a little bit of time to sing with Dad”, Stephen said. “Because at the end of the day it’s your dad,” Ashley added.
Along with being Gibb’s first solo album in 32 years, it is his very first to contain all original material.
Produced by Gibb and John Merchant, the album contains twelve songs written by Barry and his sons Stephen and Ashley while a deluxe edition adds three more originals.
“This is a dream come true for me,” Gibb gushed in a statement. “It’s a new chapter in my life. I always hoped one day that The Bee Gees would be with Columbia or indeed Sony so, it’s a great joy for me to start again this way with such great people.”
The album was produced by John Merchant.
‘Now Voyager’, released in 1984 was not a hit. In the USA it stopped at no 72. That album had a cast of guests including Roger Daltrey, Olivia Newton-John, and Harry Wayne Casey. Barry Gibb In The Now tracklisting
