Karlie Kloss has slammed the media for misconstruing her comments after she reportedly praised Kim Kardashian for being a lovely person.

The 24-year-old supermodel was asked about the feud between her best friend Taylor Swift and the reality star, after the pair have been embroiled in an online war of words following Kanye's track Famous.

In an interview with British newspaper The Times on Sunday (14Aug16), Karlie was asked about the bitter social media feud between Taylor and Kim, and was initially lost for words.

When asked by the interviewer if the mother-of-two was a good person, the supermodel replied, "Ha... you know... I honestly... I... I... I think she’s been a lovely person to me in the past. Look, I really don’t know her that well."

Her comments lit up social media, as Karlie was accused of taking sides in the feud. However, she took to Twitter on Sunday night to call out the media for allegedly misunderstanding her.

"I will not allow the media to misconstrue my words. Taylor has always had my back and I will always have hers," she wrote. "And I will never be the girl that you can use to pit women against each other. That isn't me."

Karlie revealed in the interview she was bullied in high school, and takes online bullying and trolling seriously. "I feel like I’ve personally grown very thick-skinned in my own life, whether it was back in my middle-school and high-school bullied days, or being in a career in the public eye," she told the newspaper.

"In this day and age, it’s really easy for people to be bullies from a distance, whether you’re in a small town, with girls in high school who write something mean or malicious on a Facebook wall or an Instagram post," she added, seemingly unaware of the irony of her comments, considering Taylor, Kim and Kanye's war of words over social media.

The controversial lyrics in the rapper's track include, "For all my Southside n****s that know me best, I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex." The Shake It Off hitmaker denied giving Kanye permission to use the line, however his wife Kim released a video on Snapchat that revealed otherwise.

The 26-year-old can be heard saying in the clip, "Umm, yeah go with whatever line you think is better. It's obviously very tongue in cheek either way. And I really appreciate you telling me about it, that's really nice," in response to Kanye's questions over whether she would approve.
