John Lydon hit with bottle in Chile

John Lydon (aka Johnny Rotten) was performing with his band Public Image Ltd. (PiL) in Santiago, Chile on Sunday night when a concert goer hit him in the head with a thrown glass bottle.



The bottle left a gash in Lydon’s head about an inch long which was bleeding rather profusely. While a person, possibly a manager, went to the front of the stage to try and pick out the person who made the throw, Lydon wiped his wound with a towel that he eventually wrapped around his head.

In true Lydon form, he looked into the crowd and said “What a fucking coward” followed by a declaration of “We continue” before launching back into the set with the towel in place.

Later, Lydon wrote on social media “Glass attack last night at Santiago, Club Blondie in Chile. No reflection on the rest of the crowd. Great gig. It lives. Anyone got any more pictures?”
