Rapper Tyga is facing arrest after failing to appear in court to face charges from a former landlord.

The Rack City star was scheduled to attend a hearing in Santa Monica, California on Tuesday (09Aug16) after allegedly failing to comply with a March (16) judgement ordering him and his music company to pay his former landlord, Gholamreza Rezai, $480,285 (£369,315) in unpaid rent, damages, compensation for alleged vandalism and legal fees.

The landlord's attorney, Boris Treyzon, indicated that if the musician, who recently splashed out $189,000 (£145,330) on a customised Mercedes Maybach for on-off girlfriend Kylie Jenner, failed to appear in court he would ask the judge presiding to issue a bench warrant for his arrest, and when the 26-year-old failed to show up, the judge granted the request, according to TMZ.com.

The original case dates back to 2012, when the landlord sued the star after he broke the terms of a one-year lease on a $16,000 (£12,300)-a-month mansion in Malibu, California.

Court papers suggested Tyga left the property in need of repair after installing a strippers' pole in the master bedroom, damaging the property's hardwood floors, its intercom system, a gate opener and the glass-tiled shower.

"He leased a house that he wanted to use as his primary residence, then he completely trashed it," Treyzon claimed.

According to the lawyer, the judgement ordering Tyga to pay the $480,000 stipulated a ten per cent yearly interest charge as long as it remains unpaid.
