Troian Bellisario wishes fans would focus on the more important aspects of her controversial Cosmopolitan interview instead of her comments about Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian.

The Pretty Little Liars star hit headlines last week (ends29Jul16) after she was asked to weigh in on the recent feud between Taylor and Kim, after the reality TV beauty released video clips appearing to show the singer giving her blessing to Kanye West to name check her on his song Famous - claims she had previously denied.

Asked which side she is taking in the feud, Troian struggled to answer, telling the magazine that she is "so appalled" by what she has branded Taylor's "false feminism".

"It seems like she's this person who's like, 'Sisterhood!' and then she does nothing but tear down the women that were once her friends," she continued, before also making it clear she wasn't a fan of the Kardashians, either.

Her comments about Taylor have since gone viral, prompting Troian to take to Twitter to try and clarify her stance on the whole subject, which she wants nothing to do with.

"For goodness sake what I said about her (Taylor) was that I truly had no opinion on whatever matter was most recently going on with her," the actress tweeted. "Please leave me out of noise like this. I basically said I would like to have no opinion on the topic. I've never even met her."

"I asked to not be involved in choosing sides because, right, I still dont (sic) care," she added.

And Troian is disappointed the rest of her interview, in which she discussed her support for America's Democratic Party and presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, has failed to receive the same amount of press coverage.

"Worst part is, the rest of the interview was lovely," she continued. "I enjoyed talking about the DNC (Democratic National Convention) and why this election matters."
