Hip hop mogul Dr. Dre was placed in handcuffs outside his home on Monday (25Jul16) after an infuriated driver called the police on him.

The 51-year-old rap legend found himself surrounded by deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department at the front gate of his Malibu, California mansion, where he was cuffed as authorities questioned him and patted him down.

According to TMZ, who obtained photos of his police encounter, officials were called to his residence after Dr. Dre, real name Andre Romelle Young, was involved in a dispute with a man who blocked the rapper's driveway with his car. Sources claim the unidentified driver pulled off the Pacific Coast Highway and parked his car right in front of the music mogul's house, prompting Dre to ask the man to move his vehicle.

The driver did so reluctantly, cussing and spewing out bigoted remarks and allegedly stating, "Here we go again, another black guy with a gun."

The racist language reportedly continued, inspiring the hip hop star to pull out his smartphone and video the fuming driver.

The unnamed motorist then called 911 to report someone had pulled a gun on him.

When deputies arrived, they did not find a weapon after handcuffing and searching Dre, and the officers let the rapper go. However, the driver, insistent on making a citizen's arrest, filed paperwork detailing his allegations in full. Although Dre was not formally arrested for the incident, officials at the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office will review the motorist's documents at a later date to decide whether or not the allegations merit a court case.
