Tragic singer Christina Grimmie died after sustaining one gun shot to her head and another to her chest, coroners have ruled.
The former The Voice finalist was killed by 27-year-old Kevin Loibl at a post-concert meet and greet in Orlando, Florida on 11 June (16), when the deranged fan then took his own life.
An autopsy on both bodies was performed in the wake of the tragedy, and now officials at the Orange County Medical Examiner's Office have released their findings, in which they declare Grimmie's death a homicide.
The documents also revealed no drugs were found in the systems of the 22-year-old singer or her killer, who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
Following Christina's death, her coach on The Voice, Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine, offered to pay for her funeral, while Selena Gomez's stepfather Brian Teefey, who had served as the young star's manager, created a GoFundMe page to raise money to support the family.
Christina's funeral took place on 16 June (16) in New Jersey, and thousands of mourners attended a public memorial the following day, when the family expressed its gratitude for the outpouring of support.
"Words cannot express what the many memorials, donations and tributes shared by Christina's fans and those in the media and entertainment industry mean to us," her relatives stated. "She will live on in our hearts forever. We will take our time in determining the best ways to honor Christina moving forward."
Christina's death shook celebrities, including musicians who often meet with fans while out on the road. Shortly after her murder, 133 stars signed a petition demanding American lawmakers to make a change towards stricter gun control.
A portion of the petition read: "Music always has been celebrated communally, on dancefloors and at concert halls. But this life-affirming ritual, like so many other daily experiences – going to school or church or work – now is threatened, because of the gun violence in this country.
"The one thing that connects the recent tragedies in Orlando is that it is far too easy for dangerous people to get their hands on guns."
The tragedies referred to in Orlando, Florida, are Grimmie's murder and the mass shooting at Pulse nightclub by gunman Omar Mateen, an incident which happened the day after her death.
