Celine Dion has confessed that she initially reluctant to record My Heart Will Go On.
The romantic song, the main theme to James Cameron's 1997 blockbuster film Titanic, remains Celine's biggest hit and is one of the best-selling singles of all time. In spite of the song's global success, the French-Canadian superstar has now admitted she wasn't always enamoured with the tune. "One thing is that, I'm glad I sang the song because... I didn't want to record the song," she told The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Thursday night (21Jul16) in a rare TV appearance, further joking, "I'm sorry... I'm so happy that my people don't listen to me, everything I say (sic)."
Following her interview, Celine tried her hand at the popular Wheel of Impressions game with Jimmy. The 48-year-old singer was seemingly reluctant to try it out at first, but once the game began, she became very animated. She started off imitating long-time pal, Cher, while singing Frere Jacques, then quickly transitioned into belting out a few lines from the Hollywood icon's hit Believe.
She joined in during Jimmy's Michael Jackson impression, teasing, "Jimmy are you OK? Are you OK? Are you OK, Jimmy?" Celine was also prompted to jump up and start dancing in her silver mini-dress when she did a combination of a Rihanna-style vocal and the nursery classic Row Row Row Your Boat.“There are children watching, Rihanna,” Jimmy teased, asking her to sit down. To end her set, Celine performed Hush, Little Baby as Sia. She started off slow before belting out the chorus to the tune of the Australian singer's hit Chandelier, in a near-perfect impression.
The mother-of-three seemed to be in good spirits during her performance after having suffered a painful year.
Celine lost her husband and longtime manager Rene Angelil to cancer in January (16). Shortly after his passing she returned to the stage at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas for a tribute to the late music mogul and to resume her longstanding residency there.
