Singer Toni Braxton made her new romance with music mogul Birdman official on Sunday night (26Jun16) at the BET Awards.

The Un-break My Heart star walked the red carpet with the 47-year-old at Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theatre, with the new couple posing for pictures together.

The pair has kept its romance relatively quiet since dating rumours popped up last month (May16), but at the annual awards ceremony, Toni was seen holding hands with the Y.U. Mad rapper.

“Toni and Birdman spent some time together backstage,” a source told Us Weekly. “They were holding hands.”

The 48-year-old previously alluded to her new romance with Birdman, real name Bryan Williams, during a show at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia earlier this month (Jun16).

Toni brought the Cash Money Records boss up onstage and made it clear he was her man, blowing kisses at Williams and calling him her "boo".

She also told fans, "I like that man, I respect that man."

Toni and Birdman first met back in 2002 when they collaborated on track Baby You Can Do It, and Toni's mother Evelyn recently gave her seal of approval over her daughter's new partner.

"I think he is a nice man," the 68-year-old told The Rickey Smiley Morning Show on 23 June (16). "I don't care what others say about him. He is a nice man. He is full of respect. Ever since I've been knowing that man, he's been phenomenal."

Toni separated from her husband Keri Lewis in 2009 and the couple divorced in July, 2013. She and her former spouse share custody of their two children, sons Denim, 14, and Diezel, 13. Meanwhile, Birdman was most recently romantically linked to singer Keyshia Cole.
