Louis Tomlinson is set to reunite with Simon Cowell as a guest judge on America's Got Talent.

The pop star is currently on hiatus from boy band One Direction, but he's going back to his TV talent show roots as he gives his thoughts on aspiring artists in the U.S.

For the revamped 11th season of America's Got Talent, each of the four judges will be assisted by a celebrity to help narrow down the finalists during the upcoming Judge Cuts episodes.

Louis is expected to be joining forces with music boss Simon, who helped form One Direction on the U.K.'s The X Factor in 2010. After Louis, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik were grouped together, they placed third in the singing competition but signed with Simon's Syco label anyways.

In addition to Louis, country superstar Reba McEntire, R&B singer Ne-Yo and comedian George Lopez will also be guest judges when the Judge Cuts episodes air next month (Jul16).

With the new America's Got Talent gig, Louis has clearly been eager to keep busy after One Direction began their official hiatus in January (16).

While Louis is still adjusting to becoming a first-time father to five-month-old son Freddie with ex-girlfriend Briana Jungwirth, he is also reportedly preparing to try out his acting chops as the lead in an upcoming biopic about soccer star Jamie Vardy.

The avid soccer fan has been on the shortlist to play the beloved athlete in a planned feature film of Jamie's amazing rags to riches story, and the job seemed to be his after attending the sportsman's wedding in May (16).

Louis also hinted at the possibility of portraying his pal on the big screen, telling Hello! magazine, "It's a golden opportunity. Jamie's story is incredible - he's incredible. He's a lovely guy, very easy-going and such a great example for anyone who thinks they can't follow their dreams. For a football fan, any kind of involvement in a story like Jamie's is exciting."
