The four members of ABBA were together at Berns Salonger in Stockholm this week and performed together for the first time since 1986.

Agnetha Faltskog, Bjorn Ulvaeus, Benny Anderson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad came together to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of Bjorn and Benny’s first meeting and the start of what is, arguably, Sweden’s greatest musical export.

The party ran from 6:15 PM until midnight and included numerous performances of songs by Ulvaeus and Anderson, both in ABBA and outside including music from Chess, but it was the moment that Faltskog and Lyngstad took the stage that had everyone talking. The two performed You and I from the album Super Trouper, dedicating the song to Bjorn and Benny, who then joined them on stage to add their vocals to the end of the song.

The group have rarely appeared together since their 1982 breakup and single performance in 1986. Even though they have been offered $1 billion to reform, they had previously only been together for the opening of the musical Mamma Mia in Stockholm (2005), the film premier (2008) and on January 20 for the Mamma Mia: The Party.
