Bryce Dallas Howard always has to be on her best behaviour because "all redheads get mistaken for one another".
The 35-year-old actress is a natural redhead, although she does often get her locks brightened in the salon. Her flame hair frequently sees her mistaken for her The Help co-star Jessica Chastain, but Bryce admits redheads are so few and far between in Hollywood that there are often several cases of mistaken identities.
"Redheads in general - all redheads get mistaken for one another, so we just all have to be on our best behaviour," Bryce laughed during a recent interview on The Ellen Degeneres Show. "Every single redheaded guy says that he was called Opie at one point, like my father (Ron Howard, in The Andy Griffith Show)."
But it's Jessica that Bryce most often gets confused with, and Jessica also has the same issue. In fact, they have always been interchangeable since they were youngsters growing up in New York.
"(It happens) all the time," Bryce said. "Jess and I have kind of always been in the same city for whatever situation and we were in New York at the same time growing up, and people were constantly just like, ‘Oh my Gosh, I just saw your doppelganger... this girl Jess’. And then to Jess they’d say, 'This girl Bryce, she looks just like you’."
Bryce even took a quiz online recently to determine which celebrity she looked the most like, with the search engine agreeing Jessica is her most realistic lookalike.
Jurassic World actress Bryce has enjoyed a hugely successful career, following in the footsteps of her father - actor-turned-director Ron. But when Ellen asked if she was planning to work with her father anytime soon, the star admitted it was him holding things up.
"I agree with you completely. I tell him, every other day pretty much," Bryce said. She then encouraged the audience to cheer, adding: "Can we get a round of applause for that please - I need all the help I can get!"
