Gigi Hadid's mother has reportedly warned her daughter not to move too fast with singer Zayn Malik.

The supermodel and pop star struck up a romance at the end of last year (15), following their break ups from Joe Jonas and Perrie Edwards respectively. They've been inseparable ever since, with Gigi being unveiled as the star of her beau's debut solo music video for Pillowtalk and the pair even posing in Vogue together.

Sources suggest Zayn is ready to take things to the next step already, though Gigi's mother Yolanda Foster isn't keen on the idea quite yet.

"Zayn has been talking very openly over the past couple of months about Gigi being The One and Yolanda is terrified that he's going to pop the question to her daughter, who has been really swept away by the romance," an insider told Britain's Reveal magazine.

"Gigi is really torn because her mum has made it clear that she is to stop any talk of them getting engaged now, and to make sure Zayn gets the message."

One big reason why Yolanda may be weary is the breakdown of Zayn's engagement to Little Mix star Perrie last summer (15), which came not long after his shock exit from One Direction in March that year.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star has apparently advised her 20-year-old daughter to make the singer wait, and that if he really loves her, he will.

"Her view is that Gigi should give Zayn a year's trial to make sure he really is the right man for her," the source added. "And only then should they even start thinking about taking the next big step."

It's thought Yolanda is thinking about Gigi's fashion career too, and fears that settling down too quickly will disrupt future plans for the hottest model on the planet right now.
