R&B singer Ne-Yo and his model wife Crystal Renay have welcomed their first child together.

The Closer star's representative has confirmed to E! News that the newlyweds are now parents to a baby boy, but did not give further details.

Crystal shared a picture on phone app Snapchat showing an adult hand clutching a baby's tiny hand as it laid in a cot, with the caption, "Prince SJ has arrived" followed by a crown emoji.

On Tuesday (15Mar16), Crystal, who was overdue, posted a video to Instagram from her hospital bed telling fans she was admitted because "I think there's something." In the caption, she writes, "On Snap bored as heck waiting on SJ to make his entrance."

Ne-Yo, who is father to two children from a previous relationship, married Crystal in front of family and friends in an oceanfront ceremony in Rancho Palos Verdes, near Los Angeles in February (16) when the model was nine months pregnant.

"We can't wait to start our life together," they told People.com after their vows. "We're looking forward to just being each others' best friend."

The 36-year-old said he was hoping this would be his only marriage following a failed engagement to Monyetta Shaw, the mother of his two eldest children. "This is big for me," he said. "I'm not doing this again, so I'm happy that my family and friends are able to be there to share this moment with us. We're human beings, so we're gonna bump heads on different things, but we've agreed that this is gonna be a marriage that lasts."

The couple met in 2014 and announced their engagement and the pregnancy in August, 2015. Ne-Yo wrote on Twitter at the time, "Clearing the air..@mscrystalrenay and I are ENGAGED to be married next year. And yes we are expecting. #FromTheHorsesMouth."

Ne-Yo, real name Shaffer Smith, has a five-year-old daughter Madilyn and four-year-old son Mason from his relationship with Monyetta.
