The Who returned to the stage on Saturday night with the first of a long string of postponed North American shows.

The band was scheduled to kick off the second North American leg of their The Who Hits 50! tour last September when singer Roger Daltrey was diagnosed with viral meningitis, forcing all 28 dates to be pushed off until 2016.

The long wait for fans finally ended on Saturday at Joe Lewis Arena in Detroit where the band put on a slightly shortened show that seemed to be necessitated by Daltrey. Reports had him being a little tentative on some of his singing although it grew stronger as the night went on.

Relatively new to the set list was The Rock, which only saw two performances in 2015, bringing the Quadrophenia album to four songs in the show, equal to Tommy and Who’s Next.
