Madonna has shared a touching message to her son Rocco Ritchie on her Instagram account.

The Material Girl singer and her ex-husband Guy Ritchie are currently battling over custody of Rocco, 15, who is residing in England with his director father as a court appearance nears later in February (16). It stems from Roccos alleged refusal to return back to Madonna in America after a Christmas (15) break spent with Guy, stepmother Jacqui Ainsley and his half-siblings, Rafael, Rivka and Levi.

On Wednesday (17Feb16) Madonna took to her Instagram to upload a photo of Rocco as a baby beaming to the camera as he's held on her back.

"Tu me manque," she captioned the snap with a heart emoticon, which translates to "I miss you".

She also added a cryptic quote from Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland in another post not long after the family shot.

"Alice: How long is forever?

"White Rabbit: Sometimes, just one second," it read.

Madonna isn't the only one to be uploading photos of the 15-year-old; Noel Gallagher's ex-wife Meg Matthews has also been sharing snaps of the teen.

Rocco is friendly with Meg and Noel's daughter Anaïs, 16, and has been hanging out with her as his custody battle rages on.

In a photo shared by Meg, the two friends are sitting on a sofa during a trip to Tollard Royal in Wiltshire. Meg captioned the shot: "Mum go away !! Rocco & anaïs weekend out of London ..." with a horse emoticon.

In January Madonna used the photo sharing site to defend her Rebel Heart Tour, telling followers she's a good mother despite frequently being on the road.

"Its (sic) possible to be an entertainer and a good mother!!!" she wrote alongside a photo of herself spending family time backstage with all her children, Lourdes, 19, Rocco, David, 10, and Mercy, 10.
