Kanye West never reached out to Taylor Swift for approval of his new track Famous, despite reports suggesting otherwise.

The 38-year-old rapper unveiled his new Yeezy Season 3 clothing line and much-anticipated album T.L.O.P. (The Life of Pablo) during his New York Fashion Week presentation on Thursday (11Feb16).

One song he unveiled really caught fans' attention thanks to the line in which he raps: "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex, yeah I made that b**ch famous."

Shortly afterwards, there was claims that Kanye had contacted Taylor for approval of the song, and the singer had "got the joke".

However, Taylor's representative has come forward to dismiss the reports, insisting Kanye never asked Taylor what she thought of the track.

“Kanye did not call for approval," the rep told Gossip Cop. Apparently Kanye had initially asked Taylor to put a link to the song on her Twitter account, but "she declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message".

"Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, ‘I made that b**ch famous'," the rep concluded.

The line references Kanye's unforgettable stage invasion at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, when he grabbed the mic from a stunned Taylor and protested her first ever VMA win for Female Video of the Year, arguing his pal Beyonce should have won the prize.

Kanye and Taylor appeared to have put the feud behind them last year (15), when Taylor presented the rap star with the Video Vanguard Award.

Taylor's best friends Jaime King, Gigi Hadid and Karlie Kloss were among the famous faces in the audience at Kanye's Yeezy presentation. Taylor is godmother to Jaime's son Leo and the pair are firm friends, so Jaime was one of the first to tweet her support after Famous premiered.

"I'm so sad right now & disappointed right now. I stand by my sister. Always." she tweeted.

Gigi also revealed her feelings about the track, writing: "My attendance somewhere does not mean I agree with everything being said in the music playing there. My friends know of my loyalty."

Meanwhile Taylor's brother Austin also stood up for his sibling by making a dramatic gesture on his Instagram page. Alongside the caption "Getting a head start on some spring cleaning. Here we go again," Austin is seen throwing his pair of $950 Moonrock Yeezy Boost 350 trainers into the rubbish bin.

Taylor has yet to comment on the situation herself via her social networking pages.
